Zesty Kale Protein+® Penne with Panko Bread Crumbs

3 lbs Barilla Protein+® Penne Pasta
¾ cups extra virgin olive oil, divided
3 bunches, kale, chopped
1 ½ cup chicken broth
¾ teaspoon chili flakes
1 ½ cup pecorino romano cheese, grated
6 garlic cloves, chopped
3 onions, small diced
1 ½ cup white wine
1 ½ cup panko bread crumbs
1 tbsp lemon zest
Salt and black pepper to taste
  1. Bring a large pot of water to a boil.
  2. Meanwhile, in a large skillet heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil. When the oil is hot and shimmering, add garlic. Once the garlic picks up a hint of color, add kale, and sauté for approximately 3 minutes or until wilted and soft.
  3. Add wine and reduce the by ¾ then add chicken broth and bring to a simmer.
